Anthropologie is Coming to Replace Pier 1 Imports in Wilmington’s Mayfaire Town Centre

Construction is underway for a new Anthropologie store at the popular Mayfaire Town Centre in Wilmington, North Carolina. Occupying an 8,200-square-foot space on Main Street, the new store is set to replace the former Pier 1 Imports.

Nestled at the first intersection of the primary entrance to the shopping center’s Highway 17 access, the store’s location promises high visibility. Sharing this prime, first-intersection location with Atlanta Bread, the upcoming Anthropologie store will be hard to miss and hopes to become a vibrant new addition to the shopping center’s ambiance.

With the arrival of Anthropologie, Mayfaire Town Centre continues to solidify its position as a favorite shopping destination for both residents and visitors in the greater Topsail region.

For many residents and visitors, this new Anthropologie store is a welcome convenience. Until this new location opens, the two nearest Anthropologie retail stores are 90 miles away in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and 131 miles away in Raleigh, North Carolina. Without driving, Anthropologie shoppers have had to resort to online shopping or scouring Amazon for Anthropologie-like products.

Additional details including a grand opening date will be announced later this year.

Kurt Bohlmann, general manager of Mayfaire, expressed his enthusiasm for the new addition. In a statement shared with WECT News, he said:

“Anthropologie is one of the most sought-after retail brands and we are thrilled that they have chosen to expand in the Wilmington market with a new location at Mayfaire. We are constantly working to upgrade our tenant mix in order to offer Wilmington area residents and visitors the best selection of retailers, dining, and entertainment.”

According to CBL Properties, Mayfaire Town Centre hosts 100 retail spaces and welcomes over 6,000,000 visitors each year. The addition of Anthropologie further diversifies the center’s tenant roster, which already includes names like Belk, World Market, Regal Cinemas, Athleta, Banana Republic, DICK’S Sporting Goods, The Fresh Market, H&M, Lilly Pulitzer, OrangeTheory Fitness, Pottery Barn, Sunglass Hut, ULTA Beauty, and Williams-Sonoma.

Anthropologie is a standout member of URBN brands, a collection that includes popular retailers such as Urban Outfitters, Free People, BHLDN, and Terrain. These brands collectively operate stores throughout the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom.
