About the Management

Courtney & Tony Colmenares have been married for 14 years this fall and have three children (9, 7 & 2). Courtney and Tony recently returned to Hampstead after ten years in the Atlanta area. They are not strangers to Topsail though – they lived in Holly Ridge when Tony was stationed at Camp Lejeune – back when there was a Swingbridge and a few less stoplights!

Courtney has a dynamic background in Finance. She started her career at two large national public accounting firms where she worked in the franchise division. It was there that she first became interested in the franchise model. She then left professional services and was the Controller for a rapidly growing low-income housing developer. During her tenure with the Company, she helped the Company grow from 5 to 50 employees. Courtney then spent a few years working for two of the largest single-family offices in Atlanta, one of which she helped build from the ground up to prepare for the sale of the principal’s large private corporation. Courtney is now the CFO of Saalt, a feminine hygiene brand that has donated more than 50,000 reusable period care products to women world-wide.

Tony proudly served in the USMC for 8 years. While he was serving in the USMC, he started a landscaping company, Holly Ridge Lawn Care, which is still operational to this day. After completing his time in the USMC, he transitioned into a role with the Red Cross in Atlanta in their Service to the Armed Forces team. When Courtney & Tony’s children were born, Tony attended Kennesaw State University for Computer Science. Tony took on the role of stay-at-home dad while attending college and working handyman jobs. After the kids started regular school Tony did handyman work full time as he worked as a Facilities Supervisor at Acworth United Methodist Church.

Together they built Apricot Lane Hampstead. Tony did a lot of the construction work himself, they designed the space together, and they do all of the operations of the business together. Tony handles scheduling, repairs, and payroll while Courtney handles the accounting, taxes, and all of the merchandising (the best part!). Their complimentary but opposite skill sets make them the dream team. They are lucky to have a wonderful staff that has become family. Their team of stylists helps Courtney and Tony keep up a reputation of five star customer service.
