Live music by the water, a morning market, an estate sale worth a drive, and a junior golf clinic for the kids. Most of it is free, all of it is close.

What to Expect This Weekend

Friday opens warm and mostly workable, high around 86, with a pop-up storm never fully off the table, so keep an eye on the radar if you’re headed out for the evening concert. Saturday is the wet one, high near 83 with rain likely, a good day to lean into the indoor-friendly stuff or pack a backup plan. Sunday dries out and heats up, high around 90 and plenty of sun, so hats, water, and reef-safe sunscreen if you’re on the sand. The UV index runs high on Friday and Sunday but change quickly, so keep an eye on conditions here.

Live Music & Entertainment

This is the busiest category of the weekend. The Meet Me at the Sound summer concert series runs Friday evening in Surf City, an easy, family-friendly night by the water. Eventide has music both nights (Billy Yeager on Friday, the Chicago Joe Blues Band on Saturday), Cape Fear Rising plays Hampstead on Friday, and Illa Noize closes things out Saturday night at The Trailer Bar in Surf City.

Start Saturday morning at Shop the Sound, the craft and farmers market in Surf City, then get the kids out to the Ironclad Junior Golf Clinic in Hampstead. Low-key, local, and easy on the wallet.
