South End Adventures runs charters with Captain Taylor Horrell from 822 Carolina Blvd in Topsail Beach on a 31-foot boat for up to six anglers. Named trips are The Shrimper (4-hour nearshore), The ClarkSpoon (4-hour nearshore shark trip), The Big Bite (8-hour offshore), The Sea Witch (10-hour offshore) and The Captain's Choice evening cruise. Target species listed include king mackerel, mahi mahi, amberjack, black sea bass, grouper, red snapper, Spanish mackerel, bluefish and reef fish, plus tiger, blacktip, hammerhead, spinner and Atlantic sharpnose sharks.
