PORCH Pender

About

PORCH Pender is the Pender County chapter of PORCH Communities, an all-volunteer hunger relief organization whose stated mission is to "combat hunger and food insecurity through the simple power of neighbors helping neighbors in North Carolina." Its main program is a monthly neighborhood food drive in which residents leave non-perishable donations on their porches for volunteers to collect and deliver to local food pantries. Participating neighborhoods listed include Crown Point, Pecan Grove and WyndWater, and pantry partners include Share the Table and Livingstone Tabernacle. Contact is pender@porchcommunities.org.
