Ghost Fleet Oyster Company is a Hampstead oyster farm founded in 2019 by Cody and Rachel Faison, and is a stop on the NC Oyster Trail. Alongside farmed oyster sales the company runs on-water oyster farm tours year-round, typically three to four per week for up to six people over about three and a half hours, covering oyster seed, the grow-out farm and tastings; sunset tours with wine and snacks are also offered. The business provides catering and event hosting, and operates a shell-recycling program with local restaurants and the North Carolina Coastal Federation for reef restoration. The farm also offers free tours to educational groups, restaurant owners and community leaders.
