Funky Fins offers hands-on coastal ecology programs for children, run by Chris Lener, who holds a master's degree in marine and environmental studies and taught science for 25 years across grades K-12. Classes include Explore the Shore, Shark Tooth Sleuth, Wild Wetlands Expedition, Nighttime Nesters/sea turtle nesting workshops, Beach Beasties and crabbing expeditions. Programs run at coastal sites including Onslow County Beach Access #2 in North Topsail Beach, Morris Landing in Holly Ridge and Topsail Beach Access #10, and are booked through Ticket Tailor.
