The Karen Beasley Sea Turtle Rescue and Rehabilitation Center takes in sick, injured and cold-stunned sea turtles from along the North Carolina coast, treats them, and releases them back to the ocean. It is a working hospital first and a place to visit second, which is why public access is limited rather than daily.
Tours run on a seasonal calendar. Some months it is Saturdays only, some months it is closed to the public entirely, and the center suggests buying around two weeks ahead because slots go. Tickets are online through seaturtlehospital.org, and the current schedule lives there too.
